American Beech, Fagus grandifolia

This elegant portrait of the American Beech was painted from a live specimen I collected near my studio in Lincoln, Vermont.  Beech trees are everywhere in the woods here.  They have a smooth bark and their nuts provide food for deer, turkeys & other wildlife that live in the forest. The original painting used to create these prints was done in watercolor.
